Maria "Janie" Juanita Crooms was born on June 29, 1949 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Maria Dolores and Stanley Frank Cabral and passed away on February 9, 2018 at the age of 68. She Went to St. Anthony's and Fremont High School in Oakland. Janie worked as a vintage antique dealer for 30 years and spent her time repairing jewelry, selling items on EBay, travelling, and speming time with her family and friends. Maria was a member of Alameda Vintage Point Faire and had a couple achievements and stories of going to both Hawaii and Spain. She loved butterflies, flowers, listening to Motown music, and most importantly giving to charity.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael A. Crooms Sr. Although she is gone she will be remembered and honored by her silblings Sabrina Gomez, Francisco Cabral, Tino Cabral, Anna Cabral, and Julie Linford. Maria's children Mikolette Crooms, Matthew Croms, and Michael A. Crooms. Her grandchildren Marissa Crooms, Marquis Crooms, Mariah Crooms, Michael A. Croms III, and Maya Crooms. Great grandchildren Arianna Payton and Amari King.
In celebration of Maria’s life there will be a visitation on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary from 4 – 8 PM and a vigil at 6:30 PM.
On Thursday, February 15, 2018 there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. John Catholic Church in San Lorenzo.
