Celebration of Life
Renee' Josiene Brooks
Sunrise and Sunset
Renee J. Brooks was born April 19, 1956 in San Francisco, CA to Oralee Anderson and Bennie Jefferson. She went to her heavenly home on October 4, 2017.
Renee was the fifth of nine children. Her older siblings are: Tony, Sharon, Byron and David (deceased). She was a happy and loving child who delighted in teaching her new younger siblings: Marlayna, Michael, Laurie and the baby of the family, Eric Shawn. She affectionately took loving care of him by playing Dionne Warwick songs to soothe him to sleep at night.
Renee was very talented musically and artistically; however, I did not appreciate her artistic ability as much when I returned home from elementary school to discover my plastic dolls with painted on eyebrown, eyelashes and lipstick. She also enjoyed playing her violin and painting. Renee was passionate about home decor design and her home is a testament to her talent and design ability.
Renee made lifelong friends while as a student at Jefferson High in Daly City. Many of these friends worshipped and visited her during her last days; this was a testament to her loving character and beautiful spirit.
Renee soon realized to advance her career she needed to finish her education. She returned to school and obtained a BS degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.
She worked various jobs prior to her last position as an Accountant Specialist at Kaiser KPC Oakland, CA. She successfully retired from this job,
Renee met Le Ester Brooks at San Francisco Christian Center December 14, 1995.
They married October 19, 1996 at San Francisco Christian Center.
Renee loved her children, Brian and Lanae.
Renee was popular and has many friends throughout the country. She delighted and rejoiced in the Lord having committed herself to follow Jesus at the early age of sixteen. She was a true believer and was a living testament in her faith. She was so committed to the Lord, she insisted on paying her tithes while being critically ill in the hospital.
She continues to be an inspiration in the lives of others.
Renee courageously accepted her medical diagnosis realizing the Lord was with her. During her second bout with cancer Renee told me the Lord had cured her. This was before receiving the news that her cancer was in fact in remission. True to His Word Renee was free of cancer and her testimony was and is an inspiration to others. I was so happy I began to tell strangers in stores of this miracle.
Renee and her husband Le lived with us the last six months of her life. She never once asked "Why Me," or doubted the Lord. She cried once...because I cried.
During her final hospitalization many friends visited and worshipped with her at her bedside. When they would enter the room, her face would beam with joy. Even though critically ill her peaceful countenance was obvious to all. As the eldest sister I would remain honored to have cared for her and to have been by her side at the end of her earthly life,
We were best friends and shared many adventures together. Renee had such a comical side to her that I often would tell her to stop laughing when we were in no so nice situations.
The love of her life Mr. Le Ester Brooks was sent to her by God. She waited for him and he never failed. He remained faithfully be her side during long bouts of chemo, was there for every procedure, slept in her hospital room and was patiently attentive. Her other loves were cruises, Starbucks, purses and jewelry.
Renee was such a great storyteller...no detail would be left out and many times we would laugh so hard over her pretend accents and gestures.
Her desire to go home to be with Jesus is fulfilled. She is at peace. We will always love you, Renee.
Renee leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Le Ester Brooks, her father Bennie Jefferson, brother Tony Anderson, Sister Sharon (Tony) Banks, step-daughter Lanae Brooks, step-son Brian Brooks, brother Byron Harris, Sisters Nicole Jefferson, Marlayna and Bennie Jefferson, Brother Michael (Radiah) Mikkel, Sister Laurie Autrie, and Brother Eric Shawn Anderson, Sisters in Law Dorothy Brooks, Donna Sanderson, Brother in Law Roy (Audrey) and Tiffany Brooks, Goddaughter Zaykiah, and many nieces and nephews, and countless admiring friends.
