Anita Rose Mary Short entered peacefully into rest at her San Lorenzo home with her family by her side on October 8, 2018. She was 84 years old.
Born to Mary Ruiz and Valentino Bangoli in Oakland on March 30, 1934. Anita was a lifelong resident of Alameda County. She was a devoted wife. mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. Anita was a talented cook who enjoyed shopping and spending time with her loved ones. Above all, she will be remembered for her glamourous looks and her kind ways. She will be deeply missed.
Anita is survived by her beloved children and their spouses, Ricky Short, Valerie and Shane Houston, and Brian and Misti Short; grandchildren Roxanne Short, Amy Duarte, Rocky Fanene, Ricky Short, Amanda Dishman, Bobby Short, Isaac Fanene, Taleisha Battan, Katrina Short, Brittneay Burket, Brian Short Jr., Joshua Short, Chelsea Fanene, Brandon Short, Rebecca Short, Taylor Houston, and Madison Houston; great-grandchildren Olivia Reynoso, Savannah Reynoso, Hero Battan, Atlas Battan, Ricky Short Jr., Gianna Short, DJ Burket, Brian Burket, Dixon Fanene, Payton Duarte, Lawrence Duarte, Madison Magers, Alyssa Magers, Robert Short, Damion Short, Maci Short, Lilah Short, Makenzie Dishman and Lillian Dishman; and sisters, Shirley Lois and Rebecca Mitchell.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of over 50 years, Robert N. Short; daughter, Deborah Fanane; and brothers, Ernie and Roy Bangoli and grandson, Issac Fanene.
