Vincent G. Jacques was born on November 28, 1933 in GOA, India to Antonio and Catarina Jacques as one of seven children (six boys, one sister).

Mr. Jacques attended KC College in Mumbai, India and received his Bachelor's Degree while working full-time. He then went on to be employed by Southern Pacific Railroad for 30+ years and as a Tax Preparer at H&R Block for 16+ years.

Along the way, he met and eventually married a beautiful young lady named Odette with whom he shared forty-six wonderful years. To this union two boys were born.

Vincent loved bowling, gardening, fishing, cooking, walking the Marina with his wife and watching his beloved Oakland Athletics. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends.

He was also a community-minded man as he was affiliated with the Goan Institute and he volunteered with Loaves & Fishes and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Felicitas Catholic Church in San Leandro.

One of his most admirable talents was that he was fluent in five languages.

Vincent departed this life on Friday, October 13, 2017.

He is survived by his wife Odette, sons Greg (Malini) and Glen (Tina), one grandson Kiaan and a sister named Celsa.

There will be a visitation and Rosary on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. at St. Felicitas Catholic Church in San Leandro, followed by a Mass at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Alameda County where Vincent volunteered or to the Interfaith Homelessness Network, April Showers, where Odette continues to volunteer.
